GROWTH OF ADDITION OF WEIGHT BODY INFANT OF PREMATURE GIVEN BY EXCLUSIVE ASI COMPARED WITH MILK OF FORMULA.

ABSTRACT

Background : Peoples often assume that infant birth as beginning of life, of course it cannot be blamed, but the truth is birth infant only a phase in growth process which have started 9 months before. Many matters that happened at mother during pregnancy can give influence in newborn infant. For several hours after postnatal, drugs containing in mother blood system during partum could influencing a baby. Cultural value and confidence of religion also follow giving of dilution as additional beverage for baby, from one generation to others has believes that baby better give dilution. Water is known as the source of life, as needed in mind and physical.

Research target : This research aim to know growth of body weight addition which given exclusive breastfeeding (ASI) compared with formula milk. Besides above matter, this research also aim to giving assumption that water contained in ASI which consuming by infant has already fulfill their needed and related with healthy infant.

Research method : Method used for this research is descriptive retrospective with collecting secondary data from medical record in Pediatric Installation RSUP Dr. Sardjito Yogyakarta period January 2004 – October 2004, which using method of Independent T – test. Independent T – test used to know differences between two variables.

Result and conclusion : From data-processing result at addition of infant body weight is obtained significant value >0.05 (0.487 > 0.05) meaning that there is no real differences between giving ASI with formula milk in addition of birth body weight in RSU Dr. Sardjito Yogyakarta. In addition of body weight obtained significant value >0.05 (0.704 >0.05) meaning there is no real differences between addition BBL. Although from both value of BBL and BBP no meaning, but basically there are differences between addition ASI and formula milk. It is shown with existence of addition and decreasing body weight infant between BBL and BBP. Standard difference of deviation between infant body weight with ASI and formula milk in BBP and BBP is among 275.000 up to 636.6337. The difference shows the existence of birth body weight very high between each variable.
